Welcome to Chef Nittaya Parawong’s new food concept: Block 9 Thai Street Eats! Block 9 joins the renowned Nittaya’s Secret Kitchen in her family of restaurants.
There’s a culture in the streets of Thailand that inspires a unique, flavor-forward cuisine. For hundreds of years, street vendors have offered fresh specialties, served in a casual setting to passers-by. Chef Nittaya has drawn upon her childhood growing up in Thailand and taken the street-inspired food phenomena to a whole new level. And Block 9 Thai Street Eats was born.
Chef Nittaya learned her love for this fresh fare in her native city of Bangkok, where the most delectable food of the people is served from push cart vendors in gathering spots. Each day the push carts gather in their usual places to prepare their special dishes. The best Pad Thai? Go three blocks over. The best lunches? Go to Block 7.
And so, Chef Nittaya has named Block 9 Thai Street Eats as an homage to roots of her family and her native county.
